What are areas of concern with your current accounting process?
CFO-One supported and encouraged the rollout of our time and attendance software for their client
in the hospitality industry. They have over 200 employees in their group on the Sunshine Coast and was a significantly large implementation. We worked closely with CFO-One throughout the implementation of this new IT solution for the client, which has allowed them to throw out manual paper timesheets and give so much more control and transparency in the rostering and pay runs. The front end solution provided by Tanda will create cost savings and time efficiencies as well as allowing straight through processing in the back office functions and cut down handling time and manual data entry. CFO-One are dedicated to providing quality advice and servicing and we had first hand experience of that. They are professional and forward thinking making sure nothing goes untested. We would love an opportunity to work with CFO-One again. Tanda,Tamara Cross
Changing business advisors was a big decision for us and as you can imagine, I was concerned about the potential for disruption associated with dealing with a new team. CFO-One is a surprise package coming from a start-up enterprise, they were a lot more detailed and yet less intrusive. From day one, Tamara and Michael displayed a genuine desire to understand our business, not just our accounts. They were both hands on in the operations of our business while also understanding the big picture and strategy; this really helped the transition go smoothly. There are transactions and processes that are unique to a business, so it’s natural for questions to be asked. The CFO-One staff present issues, feedback and action plans with precision, regularly communicating with my team and myself and deliver to deadlines as promised. Tamara and Michael have always been available and responsive and being Sunshine Coast based is a big advantage for us. The CFO-One team are true professionals and I highly recommend them to you. We became a CFO-One client 14 months ago and we’ve never had greater clarity on our business
performance and how to improve it. They are so much more than “accountants “. Our revenue is up
70% on this time last year and our profitability is up 40x times year to date as well. CFO-One have
played an important role in making that happen. Tamara and Michael are not only very commercially
savvy and pragmatic, but they are also extremely tech savvy. When I first searched online for a virtual
CFO service, I was willing to work with a firm no matter where they were in Australia, or on the
globe for that matter. It was a bonus for us that we found a world-class provider in this space on the
Sunshine Coast. If more accountants were true business advisors like CFO-One, the small business entrepreneurial community would be more successful.

Our business originally started with just myself and an apprentice and we are now a business of over 50 staff members. The biggest problem we faced with growing the business and having more staff on board was making sure all of our numbers were right. We had to make sure we have the right tax planning in place, make sure that we had the right payroll processes in place too. These were some pretty big issues and ones we didn’t fully understand. We had to reach out to a service like CFO-One as we had to make sure that we could have someone there that could help and advise us while we were growing at the rate that we were, with the ability to work with more of a medium sized business rather than a smaller sized business. CFO-One have helped us streamline all of our processes including the way we work with our current systems to make sure we get the best out of them. Working with CFO-One has allowed me to concentrate more on running the business and made my life a lot easier by being able to achieve a lot more clarity in the business and how we a running on a consistent basis. Ben Campbell Building Group, Ben Campbell
Michael and Tamara at CFO-One have immediately impacted our business in a positive way. They provide us with excellent monthly reporting services and advice that is extremely helpful in improving our operation. My level of understanding of accounting and our financials (and where they should be) has improved significantly since signing on with CFO-One. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough to help a business get a high-quality management accounting service for an affordable
CFO-One serve as a great business partner for the Cooroy Hotel, by continuing to add value, being there to answer queries and operating with clear communication channels. The CFO-One model embraces the “virtual CFO” role perfectly. As a business owner regularly travelling interstate and overseas, this suits me perfectly. One team handling all aspects of my business from accounts payable and receivable, payroll and banking through to providing oversight and best practice on governance and internal controls has proved for me the way to go, CFO-One are great partners”Cooroy Hotel, Hon Alan Griffiths
Just over 12 months ago our accounts manager left at short notice. As a business providing payroll and labour hire to over 100 clients and 1500 employees we needed to find a replacement quickly. We also had the added challenge of poorly documented processes and legacy software. Having met Tamara and Michael from CFO-One some months earlier I was confident they would be able to assist. They exceeded expectations and over the course of 10 months they were able to put us on the path to growth. With a limited handover, Tamara kept our business running while learning our systems. She spent one day per week on site and formed positive relationships with our team. Over time CFO-One was able to improve systems, streamline processes and perform critical financial tasks including: Provision of Financial Statements Streamline end of financial year reconciliations Seamless end of financial year reporting Monthly Management Reporting Developed suite of reports for monthly board meetings Implemented balance sheet reconciliations Introduced ratios to analyse and provide meaning to financial/performance data Workcover Reconciliation of expenses Consultant commissions Developed templates for reconciliation and invoicing of commissions Process improvement, financial advice and guidance Merchant fees – negotiated better rates Payroll bureau – investigated products to assist cash flow Automation and streamlining of accounts payable Introduced invitbox and workflow After 10 months we had an opportunity to hire an in-house CFO and again Tamara made this transition seamless for us. CFO-One now understand our business intimately and we will continue to use them as an external agent. I believe every business needs a knowledgeable and reliable CFO, but not every business has the capacity to have a full-time employee. Outsourcing to CFO-One gives you a cost effective way to get the resources of a CFO with the additional benefit of access to a team. This means that if someone is away it doesn’t impact your business and you gain from the breadth of their experience. As an external agent they have a unique and objective view of your business, and can provide insights as well as better controls to reduce risk. Additionally, they have access to their own technological resources and can be used on a regular basis or for specific projects, and this flexibility gives your business control over your finances.Workplace Central, Tatiana Porter
What is a Gap Analysis
The CFO One Gap Analysis is a tool to help business leaders clarify the current roadblocks to
achieving what is most important to them. Although our investigation process is much the same, the
gaps between where a business is and where the leader needs it to be is often unique.
Why are we winning awards with it?
The Gap Analysis helps clarify a leader’s needs – not a way to pitch our services. Our customers
begin gaining true business value from our initial conversations. Even when we don’t end up working together, customers enjoy and gain value the learnings that come from the gap analysis process.
What is the Gap Analysis Process?
It begins with a focused conversation with the business leader to clarify the key issues that require improvement. The CFO One team then goes away and creates a Report of Findings (ROF) that
provides the leader an objective third party opinion on what actions could improve the issues
discussed. The ROF often acts as a tool for the leader to organise current challenges and
communicate with management what actions require better execution.
